There are numerous advantages to using web 2.0 resources in your classroom:
Students love them
They encourage higher level thinking
They allow for differentiated instruction
They allow for collaborative learning
They address different learning styles
They are very useful for engaging students
The advantages are many! Student learning opportunities in the ares of remediation and practice are endless.
I really like this site. There are so mant ideas I can think of to use on the interactive posters. I plan to practice
with this site over the summer and use it for the next school year.
With Web 2.0 you are able to reach students in different ways that have different styles of learning. I think students will become more engaged with the variety of tools. Children that may not show an interest in the “normal” style of learning and teaching may become more engaged with the use of technology.
This workshop today was fantastic! You did an excellent job of finding Web 2.0 tools that we can use with our students in a variety of content areas. My experience today was very engaging and interactive.I love the way that we shared out the information. These tools are and this type of PD presentation is one that we need more of in Red Clay. The lecture format no longer works and teachers tire of it very quickly.Thank you for treating us like the professionals that we are.Great job!!!! Alice
These resources are amazing. Thanks for a busy, engaging morning. Now, to figure out how to use these websites in my classes. ~Margo
The ability to teach students who are not as engaged with the usual “lecture hall” style of teaching is such a great tool. Students are very quickly passing teachers’ knowledge base for technology and giving your students the ability to learn and teach each other using more modern technology really helps engage them. Web 2.0 gives the students the ability to have a say in their education in a relatively controlled manner.

Web 2.0 allows students to have a voice in the global community.Students see the internet as powerful, and giving them the opportunity to contribute gives power to their work. These tools are fun, and students are more likely to learn when they are enjoying their work.
Stella Evans I always learn something new with your classes, Judith. I feel like I keep my finger on the pulse of technology in education but I always come away with more. I will add a new link to tunaruna with Web 2.0 technologies. Thanks again, Yanaka
Web 2.0 gives teachers a variety of tools to use in the classroom. These tools can engage your students and keep them on their toes. The tools will also keep teachers on their toes and allow them to create a number of unique lessons.
Thanks Judith. I enjoyed working in small groups and sharing in jigsaw groups. I liked learning about and designing on ProtoPage. I can already think of many uses for myself and students. So looking forward to trying out more web 2.0 tools. Mary
